For the last few years, since my youngest kiddo graduated high school and decided to move out of the house and continue with his college education, I have been trying to decide what to do with myself. I mean, quite honestly, I was looking for something to do with my free time even before that. Now, that I’m thinking about it, I’ve probably been looking for something meaningful to do with my life since my kids were old enough to do most things for themselves.
Maybe you can relate?
I don’t even know if this is just something only women who have grown children go through or if it’s just human nature to want to do something meaningful with our lives outside of what we have been doing with our families. To contribute something meaningful to humanity.
I had been reading so many great books about breaking out of old habits, and creating new pathways in your brain, books on healing your life and meditation. I read books about successful women starting their own businesses and “how to” books on anything from influencing people to losing your mind and creating a new one.
I was desperate to know what I was meant to do with the rest of my life. I was interested in so many things like fashion, home decor, interior design, and even party planning, but none of those things really excited me enough to want to do it full time, or even part time.
I took a meditation course last Summer (out of desperation to help my husband learn to relax) and that was the beginning for me to begin to understand how to get the answers I was searching for. When I would sit and quiet my mind, I would begin to get these subtle ideas on how to go about discovering my passion.
I started incorporating gratitude into my daily walks with my puppy dogs and just speaking out loud the things in my life that I was grateful for. This one exercise alone was enough to get me into this state of blissful excitement and when I felt my whole body vibrating with gratitude, I began saying to myself, to God, to the Universe…
”Please, I want to know what my passion is. Please show me what I’m meant to do with my life now”.
I did that almost every single day for a while and what began happening was so amazing. I didn’t really even notice how all the things that had previously bothered me just seemed to go away. The daily meditation and gratitude practice completely rewired my brain and I began to enjoy all of the daily activities that used to seem so boring and monotonous.
I started reading more books on meditation, I took a beginners yoga workshop, and I started listening to podcasts, something I swore I would never do.I even one time thought I would delete the App on my phone because I said I will never listen to podcasts.
Well now, I listen to several every single day!
I knew that I wanted to do something on social media, but frankly I just didn’t think the world needed another fashion blogger. No disrespect intended, honestly. It just didn’t seem like the kind of thing that I would feel as though I was helping people better their lives, which is my main goal, to help people raise their vibration and manifest their dreams and to just help them realize they can feel better every day by just doing a few simple things.
That revelation came to me while cooking dinner one night and listening to the Abraham Hicks podcast.I was also thinking about Aaron Doughty, a youtuber who made daily videos about expanding your consciousness. I had shared his instagram page so many times as well as the Abraham Hicks books and I finally began to discover my passion.
When I talk about these subjects I feel such a resonance inside of me that just feels so good that I know it is my purpose to share all that I have learned about the Laws of the Universe and The Law Of Attraction, Yoga and Meditation, along with a little Fashion and Home Decor mixed in. As well as Health and Wellness, including what we put in our minds and bodies and the way we live our lives.
These are the things I want to share here in my Blog. I want to uplift and inspire as many people as possible to begin right now to start living the life they were born to live. To help them know that all of the feelings they are looking for out in the world are already inside of them and to help them know that the thoughts they think are the key to manifestation.
I can’t wait to get started and get to know you all more!
Please, tell me about yourself and how you found my Blog in the comments below.
