There is no relationship as important as your relationship with YOURSELF. Many times people put the responsibility of how they feel on the people they are closest to. In fact, most people do this the majority of the time. We look to our partner, children, or friends for validation. Or we mirror the feelings of those around us, taking on emotions that weren't ours to begin with.
Why do we do this?
Most people aren't really even doing this consciously. When you don’t take time to be with yourself, it's only natural to look to other people to fill up those places inside of you that feel empty, scared, or vulnerable.
One of the most powerful realizations in my life has been the following: All of the feelings you are seeking from others or out in the world already exist INSIDE OF YOU. You don't need another person, relationship, event, or acquisition to call on the feelings you are seeking in life.

Try this exercise with me and I will prove it to you!
Close your eyes and imagine that the dream you are holding inside has already taken place. You know, the one that you're afraid to say out loud because you think others will laugh or call you crazy...
Yes! THAT one!
Imagine that you have accomplished that goal, landed that job, developed that relationship, whatever it is that you want... It’s yours!
Now really get into that space of summoning up how it FEELS! You're smiling from ear to ear. You feel so proud and excited. You feel important, and you feel freedom for the first time in so long. You feel on top of the world! You are beaming from head to toe.
Now tell me that you didn't just summon those feelings right now, before anything has really even manifested.
See how easy that can be when you allow yourself to dream!
What you actually just did is something you should practice regularly, and I promise that your life will begin to change in ways that will shock you and those around you. You not only just proved to yourself that all the feelings already exist (because the reason we want things is because we want the feelings they bring, right?), but you also just made a huge leap into the quantum field to where your future self resides! (More to come about that in another blog post!)
The older we get, we tend to forget that our imagination is a powerful thing. We have become so codependent that we look to others to fulfill our dreams. We give away our power or even worse, we just go through life not ever really knowing who we are and what we want and how great we can become.
Think about how much people are attracted to those who don't need anything from others. You know the type... they are so confident and self-assured. They are independent and they are leaders. I guarantee you that they have practiced self love and self care because you can not give to others what you withhold from yourself.
