The transformation in this room is so dramatic because this room used to actually be a media room. When my husband upgraded the television in the master bedroom to the 90in 5K screen, that was the end of us watching television anywhere else in the house.
When my son moved out into his own apartment a few years ago, there was no one at all using the media room so I finally convinced my husband to turn it back into a guest bedroom.
It is such a large room with these stunning vaulted ceilings and I couldn’t wait to open up the space with a lighter paint color and a fresh neutral color palette.
We added the large poster bed to fill up the space even more and I even ordered a second sheepskin chaise lounge to balance the room. The addition of these chaise lounges make it a wonderful meditation space or a wonderful place for our guests to rest or even take a nap without having to get into bed. It really is such a beautiful and calming retreat.
We are still waiting on the artwork to arrive for the large wall and a television to go over the gorgeous cabinet in here, as well as a new countertop in the guest bath. It’s all coming together even better than I even imagined.
Now we have room for all the kids to come home for the holidays and have their own guest suite and plenty of privacy for friends coming for a visit.
