Collective Consciousness is the set of shared beliefs, ideas, and moral attitudes which operate as a unifying force within society. In general, it does not refer to the specific moral conscience, but to a shared understanding of social norms.
This is not anything new in the world, but the concept was a new one to me. When I started really getting into meditation and self discovery this term kept coming up in different books and things I was reading, so I wanted to get a clear understanding as to what exactly I was “tapping in to”.
In this Interconnected universe, every improvement we make in our private world improves the world at large for everyone! Fascinating, right?! We all float on the collective level of consciousness of mankind so that any increment we add comes back to us. What we do to benefit life automatically benefits all of us! It is a scientific fact that…
“What is good for you is also good for me”.
The level of consciousness (energy fields) are calibrated according to their measurable effect. With each progressive rise in the level of consciousness, the “frequency” or “vibration” of energy increases. Thus, higher consciousness radiates a beneficial and healing effect on the world. If that doesn’t inspire you to want to be a better version of yourself, nothing will!
The most important element in reaching upward to higher levels of consciousness is an attitude of willingness. I think that first you must have an awareness of where you are on the scale and have a willingness and an openness to rising up the scale. The single most helpful thing you could begin to do right now to raise your vibration (energy, consciousness) is daily meditation.
I practice transcendental meditation which is just sitting upright in a chair and closing my eyes for 20 minutes, twice a day. I use a mantra, which is just a sanskrit word with no meaning, so that when thoughts come in, I just favor the mantra, and that helps to quiet the mind and go within. (another post) Transcendental Meditation is not based on any religion or philosophy. (link here) It doesn’t require any special props or music and can be practiced anywhere.
There are many different types of meditation. Just do a little research and find one that works for you. It is the missing piece for anyone that wants to make a lasting change in their life. I can tell you that if you have tried everything you can think of and have been unsuccessful in accomplishing your goals, this is the one thing that will actually get you where you want to go.
You owe it to yourself, and you owe it to the world and the collective consciousness of the planet!
Just try it! You can thank me later.
